The new patented Ultimate Saw Horse from Forest Master can handle logs, timber or any other type of wood. Its unique chain locking method makes one man operation simple and, once the log is loaded, all the required lengths can be cut without having to reposition it. The chain lock, combined with the toothed "v" clamp secures the log against rotation when cutting with a chainsaw.
The Forest Master Ultimate Saw Horse requires minimal initial assembly and then simply folds for easy storage and transportation.

I have now cut some 15 tons of European larch with the help of this product. These larch poles were delivered direct from the forest in a 25 ton load and are some 3 metres in length and vary from 100 mm (4 inches) to 450 mm (18 inches) in diameter. With the help of a friend, we have cut these poles into "rounds" about 500 mm long ready for splitting into logs for our domestic fire at home. In the main, the saw horse has provided an excellent servive, however, I have some criticisms of it. 1.0 The paint cover. In Argyll's harsh marine environment, the type of coating used is not good. The least scratch, and rust forms, which then migrates under the paint coat which in a relatively short time pulls away in sheets. An oxide base paint with undercoat and a top coat would be better, allowing any scratches to the coating to be rubbed down and repaire. 2.0 The base at the front end should have splayed legs, currently they are parallel. Fine on a pefectly flat surface, but easily over balances on farmyard or forest ground. We have cut a length of bar steel which is entered into the foot of the unit, running at right angles to it, effectively widening and stabilising it. 3.0 Dont kid yourself on that you can operate single handed with anything but lightweight poles! It's a two man job. 4.0 Conclusion..Other than these minor irritants, this unit makes good use of an old idea ... Thank you Liam Griffin.
