The AL-KO Comfort 38E Combi-Care electric lawn scarifier and aerator improves further upon its predecessor the award-winning 38VLE model.

Not only does the new design look great, but performance is enhanced thanks to the smooth underside which reduces debris accumulating and requires less cleaning, together with the large front air intakes which ensure efficient motor cooling and improved collection performance. Incorporating larger rear wheels, the machine is more balanced and stable in operation and storage.

Through tool-free casssette changing it is simple to swap between the scarifying roller with three-step steel blades and the lawn raking roller with efficient steel spring prongs. Gentle care lawn raking is achieved with 24 specially formed steel spring hooks, whilst more intensive scarifying...

It is quick and easy to adjust the working depth via the five-position central dial - one touch is sufficient to reach the desired depth: set it high for light raking duties, or low for deeper aeration using the hardened steel blades. A visual safety indicator shows whether the shaft is properly fitted and secure.

Featuring a 38cm working width and large 55 litre collection box, the durable AL-KO Comfort 38E Combi-Care enables you to carry out complete lawn care with a single machine.

For green and well-maintained lawns all year round, simply exchange the scarifier reel for the supplied aerator.

Most people don't realise that their lawn is constantly growing moss and thatch on the surface of the soil. This moss and thatch prevents water, air and sunlight from reaching the grass and its roots, and therefore not allowing the grass to breath and feed. This results in an unhealthy lawn that does not have the rich green colour and thick appearance that it should.

When to Scarify?: Ideal lawn treatment in spring and autumn: re-moves residue from your lawn and brings it back to shape.

What does Scarifying do?: Scarifying is a less intense process than aerating, where spring tines spin and rake out the moss and thatch from the surface of the soil. This allows the air, water and sunlight to reach the base of the grass and its roots.

When to Aerate: Best done in summer and winter: special care treatment for lawns, removing thatch, cover and moss.

What does Aerating do?: Aerating is a process involving blades penetrating the surface of the soil down to the roots of the grass. These blades leave slits in the surface of the soil which allows air and water into the roots of the grass, giving them more of the nutrients that they need to be healthy.

A serious piece of kit

I have used a Black & Decker and a friend's Flymo scarifier before. The AL-KO is in a different class. I have yet to use the aerating blades but the scarifying rake, even at half depth is amazing. Extremely well built and jolly good value.

A real quality line of garden machinery

I purchased this scarifier in preference to others because I already owned an AL-KO petrol mower and found that to be of real quality in all areas. I'm delighted to say that this trend is continued with the AL-KO scarifier, which has been worth every penny.
