Lighten the workload with the Harrier 56, the largest pedestrian rear roller rotary lawn mower in the Hayter range. Featuring an impressive 56cm (22") width of cut and with a refined appearance, the Harrier 56 evokes the Hayter marque in both build quality and performance, making it even easier to achieve a beautiful striped finish on a large lawn.

The Hayter Harrier 56 BBC petrol lawn mower with autodrive, variable speed and blade brake clutch is equipped with a powerful, clean and fuel efficient 190cc Briggs & Stratton Series 850 OHV ReadyStart engine. Hayter chooses Briggs & Stratton, the largest producer in the world of engines for outdoor equipment, as the engines are designed specifically for lawn mowers and deliver high power at low speed, essential for heavy duty mowing and quiet operation, with easy-starting and low emissions. ReadyStart equipped engines benefit from the Briggs & Stratton 'S2 Guarantee' which offers the piece of mind that the engine will start within two pulls every time, with no need to manually prime or choke the engine.

This model features autodrive, which means the engine drives the rear roller so you don't have to push the mower, taking the effort out of mowing your lawn. It also has the added benefit of variable speed, enabling you to adjust the forward travel speed between 1.5mph to 3mph to suit your own preferences and the grass conditions. The blade brake clutch stops the cutter blade but enables the engine to continue running, which reduces the number of re-starts and is useful while emptying the grass bag or travelling over non-grassed areas.

Featuring a wide 56cm width of cut, the Hayter Harrier 56 BBC has eight height of cut settings between 13mm and 60mm which are controlled via a counter-balanced single lever for light and easy selection. The die-cast aluminium cutting deck provides corrosion resistance and high durability, extending beyond the wheelbase for easy mowing around borders. Unique, high performance enhancement fins on the front of the deck have been designed to help comb and hold the grass in the upright position before the grass is cut. Combined with the tough ABS underdeck liner, this gives an enhanced cut and collection performance, easy cleaning and quieter operation, at the same time preventing build up of grass cuttings and reducing the risk of thrown objects. The large 70 litre grass bag is made of tough, lightweight fabric for improved airflow and has two handles for easy emptying by lifting through the handlebars. The grass clippings can be discharged out of the rear of the mower when the grass bag is not attached.

The Hayter Harrier 56 BBC achieves formal lawn stripes with its steel, split differential, ribbed rear roller, which also improves traction when cutting lawn edges and around flower beds, as well as minimising scuffing when turning. Self-aligning roller bearings ensure smooth running and increased life of the rear roller. The front wheels also have smooth running, long life ball bearings. Safe and comfortable operation is ensured thanks to the full width handlebar including OPC, the Operator Presence Control with blade brake clutch.

The Hayter Harrier 56 BBC self-propelled, variable speed rear roller petrol lawn mower with blade brake clutch weighs 54kg, is ideally suited to large lawns of around one and a half tennis courts in size and gives a fine, formal, striped finish.

The Hayter Harrier 56 range gives you complete peace of mind with a five year conditional manufacturer's warranty.

ABOUT HAYTER.....

The name of Hayter has been synonymous with British grass cutting since 1946. As a pioneer of the rotary lawn mower, the company has become a household name with both the serious gardener and professional user.

Many significant mowers have emanated from the site in Spellbrook, a hamlet between Harlow and Bishop's Stortford in Hertfordshire. Today Hayter manufactures a wide range of grass cutting equipment, satisfying the demands of loyal customers. The majority of Hayter products are still painted in traditional "British Racing Green" colours, making a Hayter mower instantly recognisable wherever you go. Many Hayter mowers are of the "rear roller" type, enabling you to achieve that very British thing - a beautifully striped lawn.

In Hayter, modern technology has not replaced traditional skills. Rather the two are combined in a powerful recipe where each compliments the other. Many of the processes may be computer-controlled but this does not supplement the skills of the practiced hand and critical eye, which act together to produce quality.

Quality is a way of life, and Hayter strives constantly to maintain and improve the standards upon which its reputation has been gained.

Hayter appreciates the loyalty of its customers and such loyalty gets a reciprocal commitment from the company. Supported by up to date product information and electronic systems, the network of dealers is capable of satisfying customer needs quickly, accurately and efficiently. Customer satisfaction is what the partnership of Hayter and dealer strives to attain.

Since 2005 Hayter has been owned by The Toro Company based in Minneapolis, USA. Toro is a leading global manufacturer of high quality grass cutting equipment for golf courses, landscape contractors and homeowners. Since acquiring Hayter, Toro has invested significant funds to further improve the existing manufacturing facility at Spellbrook.

Looking to the future, Hayter is well placed to build on its decades of success. At the root of this positive future will be Hayter's desire to continue its culture of being 'Makers of The Finest Mowers'.
