The Makita BHX2501 is a high specification petrol leaf blower and vacuum that has dramatically improved performance. Powered by the latest low-emissions and quiet four-stroke petrol 24.5cc overhead valve engine with direct mounted impeller, a massive 65 cubic metres of air are generated every second. This actually gives an air flow speed of 145mph.

The Makita BHX2501 petrol leaf blower weighs just 4.4kg and has a comfortable, single handgrip with thumb control throttle and press-in lock device. The OHV 4-stroke engine runs on unleaded petrol, and so is much quieter than a two-stroke, the blower also boasts lower emissions, and with twin bearing cast steel crank and chrome bore is best for durability, performance and long-life.

Alternative nozzles and a vacuum bag kit (all available separately) makes the Makita BHX2501 blower the ideal garden clear-up machine for commercial and domestic landscape operations.

BENEFITS OF THE MAKITA MINI 4-STROKE ENGINE

Clean exhaust emissions
The MM4 engine has radically reduced the emissions compared with an equivalent 2-stroke engine.  Exhaust emissions have been significantly reduced to comply with strict regulations throughout the world.

Performance
MM4 engines exceeded the performance of any equivalent 2-stroke. The patented unique lubrication system allows Makita's 4-stroke engines to be used in multiple positions.  Employing this sytem enables brush cutters and line trimmers to be used on most sloped angles including ditches, woodland undergrowth and banks.

No fuel mixing
The Makita MM4 engine uses neat unleaded petrol (ie, no oil need to be mixed with the fuel) therefore reducing the risk of damaging the engine with the incorrect fuel mix.  The overall cost is 60% better, based on the combined fuel and oil running costs.

Low running costs
Comparing a Makita 24.5cc MM4 brush cutter to a 24.5cc 2-stroke brush cutter, the MM4 engine will save you 40% on fuel per year.

Low weight and low noise
Makita 4-stroke engines achieve a higher power to weight ratio approximately 20 to 30% by its high combustion efficiency and newly developed compact spark plug.  It is the smallest of the current 4-stroke engines and the lightest in weight using a magnesium diecast clutch case.

Makita MM4 - the engine that won't cost the earth!

ABOUT MAKITA...

Makita (UK) Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Makita Corporation, based in Anjo City, Japan. Makita Corporation concentrates exclusively on the manufacture and sale of professional power tools - tools for people who earn their living using them. Naturally, tools of this quality are greatly appreciated by serious hobby users as well. The Corporation was founded in 1915, so in 2005 celebrated its 90th anniversary of making and supplying quality electrical products. Makita (UK) Ltd was founded in 1972 and it was immediately successful with the launch of the first cordless drill/screwdriver, at a realistic price, which was powerful and reliable enough for professional users. Makita owes its reputation for building outstanding quality power tools to the drive and determination for excellence that began over 90 years ago as a manufacturer of electric motors. In 1958, Makita introduced its first electric tool. Today Makita is one of the world's largest power tool manufacturers with seven manufacturing facilities globally and a selection of over 350 superior, innovative tools and well over 4,500 accessories.

In 1991 Makita acquired Dolmar and thereby gained valuable experience in the outdoor power equipment market and can now deliver even more innovation to the grounds care industry. For five years Makita has been the sole supplier of power tools to the Ministry of Defence.

MM4 4-Stroke Engines

Makita is also leading the change to a cleaner, much more environmental approach to the products it produces. The company introduced the MM4 4-stroke engine which produces less emissions and has less fuel consumption than the traditional 2-stroke engine, and is therefore kinder to the pocket.

Easy Start Technology

The new Makita easy start system delivers quick and easy starting. The lightest pull on the cord when the engine flywheel is at standstill will activate a spring-loaded assistance mechanism and speed the crank through the compression stroke and ignition sequence into the combustion cycle, giving hassle-free starting time and time again.

M2M Vibration Dampening

Makita has developed a particularly effective system for dampening engine vibrations: the Makita two-mass system known as M2M. The vibrating mass, consisting the engine, bar and chain is isolated from the other parts of the chainsaw by vibration dampener elements, which is more effecting than simply dampening the handles. Effecting vibration dampening reduces the physical stress of working with a chainsaw. The hands remain steady when cutting and the guide bar can be guided safely and accurately.
