Description

The EGO Power+ LB5800E battery-powered leaf blower is one of the most powerful rechargeable blowers on the market and the first to perform better than many premium petrol-powered models. It runs on the first ever 56 volt Arc lithium-ion battery with 40% more power than the leading 40 volt battery, which delivers the performance of petrol without the noise, fuss and fumes.

The EGO Power+ blower features jet turbine technology, inspired by advanced aeronautics technology to deliver industry-leading power and a high-efficiency brushless motor that provides a lightweight, compact design for longer run time, low vibrations and extended motor life. The variable speed thumb selector gives added airflow control with single-handed use, generating more than 977 cubic metres of air volume in turbo boost mode. The large-diameter blower tube delivers maximum airflow of 270km/h.

The EGO Power+ LB5800E leaf blower has more than enough power to clear up even the biggest windfall, without the restraints of being tethered to a power cord. It is also compatible with the new backpack battery.

EGO's battery-powered garden tools reduce the risk of HAV (hand-arm vibration), VWF (vibration white finger) and carpal tunnel syndrome, and this blower is no different. "Part of Ego’s professional range, this is a real hand cannon that will be a welcome addition to the autumnal armoury of anyone who has got a lot of land to lick into shape. There’s an easy changeover between round and flat nozzles, but we don’t think you’ll need to do much switching because with either nozzle this machine produces some serious air volume that will push away anything in its path. Plus, it offers good targeting if you’re trying to tuck debris away in a corner of a garden or move it towards a compost.

Well-balanced, the machine naturally creates a good working angle with the ground so you never feel like you’re fighting it, even when working at maximum airflow. The controls are located at the top end of the handle with a chunky dial so you can stay on top of the power output while you’re working and a turbo button that when pushed will get you to max power and then back to your previous output in an instant.

We still think Ego has one of the best battery systems on the market and the 5.0Ah is good for a run time of just over an hour, working at various air speeds."

EGO’s commitment to innovation is driven by a talented team of highly qualified technicians responsible for developing and delivering clean, reliable power tools for today’s switched-on customers. In 2004 EGO installed a 7,000m2 Green Roof system to their dedicated R&D facility. This has saved the equivalent of 5 litres of petrol per m2 each year. The roof of the Green Power Industrial Park features a 2-megawatt photovoltaic power station.

Known as ‘The Blue Roof’, the power this generates, year-on-year, saves the equivalent of 755 tonnes of coal, as well as cutting Sulphur Dioxide emissions by 50 tonnes and Carbon Dioxide emissions by 1,677 tonnes annually. The Green Power Industrial Park also utilises the latest in ground-source heating, air-conditioning and water-storage technologies. The ground-source heating system alone saves a massive 1 million KWh of electricity annually, the equivalent of 378 tonnes of coal.
