The Premium 520 VSi-B petrol lawn mower has been added to AL-KO's German-engineered line-up in response to popular demand from its customers and dealers.

This model combines variable speed drive, electric start and 4-in-1 function to result in a quality, easy and comfortable to use petrol rotary lawn mower. Paired with a Briggs & Stratton 675iS OHV engine and featuring a 51cm (20") cutting width, this mower is a perfect fit for lawns up to 1,800 square metres.

The 163cc engine features the convenience of electric starting so no more priming, no more pulling - just touch and mow! Thanks to the lithium-ion technology used in the Briggs & Stratton InStart engines, the battery can be recharged as often as necessary, usually within minutes.

With user comfort a key aspect in the design process of the AL-KO Premium 520 VSi-B, the variable feature allows the speed of drive to be set to suit the operator's walking pace and the mowing conditions on the day. When combined with other comfort-enhancing qualities such as the optimum design of the cockpit with all operating controls within easy reach, a soft grip handlebar and the XXL smooth-running wheels, the machine is easy to manoeuvre over rough ground, even on an incline.

The AL-KO Premium 520 VSi-B is equipped with a deep MaxAirflow steel cutter deck which maximises the mower's performance in each of the four mowing modes. The choice of collecting, mulching, rear discharging or side discharging the grass clippings is available in one multi-functional machine so it can be used in a variety of mowing environments. In collection mode, the large 70 litre EasyClick grass box is efficiently filled from back to front to maximum capacity, with a level indicator letting you know when it is time to empty.

Don't worry if your shed or garage is on the small side - AL-KO's clever service and storage position allows the mower to be stood on end so the underside of the deck can be accessed for cleaning and maintenance, and storage space is kept to a minimum.

This is because the extra tall steel plate deck and extra large discharge channel increase the airflow by 42 per cent. As a result, the grass clippings are not transported at a low level into the grass catcher as in the case of most standard lawnmowers, but are instead thrown backwards in a high arc and remain at the back. This means the grass catcher is effectively filled from the back, without the discharge channel becoming blocked. Another bonus: The removable service flap for convenient mower maintenance.
